INVISIBLE FRIEND

23/07/2011 9:30 pm

Invisible Friend weave an enticing blend of nostalgia and innovation with the anticipated release of their latest studio album – Sunroom, capturing a collection of songs that span almost the last decade of writing, playing and life.

Produced in their SUNROOM studio alongside engineer Steve Law, and mastered by Paul Gomersall (Eric Clapton, Kate Bush, The Angels & Sinead O’connor), the group has created an album rich in diversity and mood, bursting with their trademark multi-lead harmony vocals, ingenious arrangements and songwriting brilliance – all the while never straying far from the live I.F experience.

Having been likened to so many, and citing influences as diverse as vocal super-groups Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Cream and Supertramp, to the psychedelics of Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues, The Beatles and the dirty blues, funk and soul of Parliament and War – Invisible Friend has been described as “A group you wished you both belonged to, and discovered” – Tony Bates     (Highland FM).

The invisible Friend Juggernaut invades the lennox point hotel on July 23rd to spread the love and create rapture on the dance floor and in the ears of the local population and soak up the winter soul that makes  the gigs at the lennox  one of the invisibles favourite.

THE CLAYMORES

02/07/2011 9:30 pm

The Claymores  have been dealing the Northern Rivers deep-seated Detroit rock for the past twenty years. they’ve delivered savage guitar dirges in the mode of their distinguished forebears – Radio Birdman, the Stooges, the Saints, the Sunnyboys and the lime spiders.

A staunch band of brothers, the Lees, Matt and Andy on guitar and bass, and the Hughes, Jason on guitar and vocals and David on drums,  they continued the stern discipline of driving guitars  that equals and sometimes betters that of their exemplars, and at times, according to critics, echo the frenetic firestorms of Midnight Oil.

Having supported The New Christs  and  Dennis Tek, 2011 is a big year for the band, with a new album due out soon,  and a diet of regular pub shows to keep their guitars honed.

Don’t miss the Claymores at the Lennox Hotel july 2nd with special guests,Birdbrain , Slug
